Caminando a la Luz

Una figura solitaria camina hacia una fuente de luz que no es natural. Sobre ella, una red — tejida de hilos de colores, frágil y compleja — irradia rayos multicolores que atraviesan la oscuridad como si fueran promesas. El título escrito a mano al pie de la obra lo confirma: Caminando a la luz.
Pero esta no es la luz del sol. Es una luz construida, filtrada, intervenida por el ser humano. La red que la contiene podría ser una trampa o podría ser un instrumento — Rogelio no lo decide. Deja esa ambigüedad abierta como una pregunta que cada espectador debe responder por su cuenta.
La figura no corre ni duda. Camina. Con la calma de quien ha aceptado que la luz a la que se dirige puede ser imperfecta, artificial, incluso peligrosa — y va de todas formas. Porque la oscuridad que rodea el camino es la única alternativa.
En Caminando a la Luz Rogelio pinta uno de los arquetipos más universales de la condición humana: el ser que avanza hacia lo desconocido no porque tenga certeza, sino porque detenerse no es una opción. La luz multicolor — azul, verde, amarillo, rojo — no es decorativa. Es la complejidad del destino mismo: nunca de un solo color, nunca simple, siempre más hermoso de cerca que desde lejos.

A solitary figure walks toward a source of light that is not natural. Above it, a net — woven from colored threads, fragile and intricate — radiates multicolored rays that cut through the darkness like promises. The handwritten title at the foot of the work confirms it: Walking toward the light.
But this is not sunlight. It is a constructed light, filtered, intervened by human hands. The net that contains it could be a trap or it could be an instrument — Rogelio does not decide. He leaves that ambiguity open as a question each viewer must answer for themselves.
The figure does not run or hesitate. It walks. With the calm of someone who has accepted that the light ahead may be imperfect, artificial, even dangerous — and goes anyway. Because the darkness surrounding the path is the only alternative.
In Walking toward the Light Rogelio paints one of the most universal archetypes of the human condition: the being who moves toward the unknown not because they are certain, but because stopping is not an option. The multicolored light — blue, green, yellow, red — is not decorative. It is the complexity of the destination itself: never a single color, never simple, always more beautiful up close than from a distance.
